Easy Chocolate Cakes

A chocolate cake is every gourmet’s fantasy.  Send chocolates by post in UK so that it can be used to make the following recipes:

Special Chocolate Cake: Ingredients:-

  • 225 gm plain flour
  • 85 gm cocoa powder
  • 350 gm caster sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp soda bicarbonate
  •  1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 ml vegetable oil
  • 250 ml milk
  • 250 ml boiling water
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

For chocolate icing:

  • 200 ml double cream
  • 200 gm plain chocolate

Method:

  • Pre heat oven to 350 F/ 180 C. Grease and line two 8 inches sandwich tins.
  • Place all cake ingredients in a bowl and beat till fully smooth and combined.
  • Add boiling water little by little into this mix.
  • Divide cake mix between two tins and bake for 25 to 35 minutes.
  •  If it is done, a tooth pick or a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove cakes from oven and allow them to cool totally while they are still in their tins before you do icing for the cake.
  • To make chocolate icing, combine the cream and chocolate in a low heat in a saucepan till the melting of the chocolate. Take away the pan from the heat and whisk contents till smooth and glossy. Keep aside and allow cooling for 1-2 hours till it becomes sufficiently thick to spread around the cake.
  • To get the cakes ready, ease out the cake from the tins using a knife with round blade. With great care remove cakes from tins.
  •  Spread some chocolate icing above one cake and to with the other cake.  Spread remaining icing all over the cakes.

Chocolate and Banana French toast Ingredients:

  • 75 gm chopped milk chocolate
  • 1 banana (ripe)
  • From round loaf, 4 slices crusty white bread
  • 3 eggs (medium)
  • Maple syrup-1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp double cream
  • 25 gm unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Extra maple syrup or icing sugar

Method:

  • In a small bowl, place sliced banana and mash with a fork. Add chocolate and combine.
  • Place two slices of bread on the work table. The chocolate and banana mix must be divided between them and spread evenly to reach the edges.
  • Top each slice with a second bread piece to make two sandwiches.
  • In another bowl, whisk together maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract and double cream.
  • Melt butter in big pan over low heat. Dip both sides of sandwich in egg mix so as to totally cover them.
  • Lower the sandwich in oil and fry till golden brown and when chocolates have started to dip. Repeat the process with the second sandwich.
  • Halve the sandwiches using a knife and sprinkle cinnamon and either maple syrup or icing sugar for a grand chocolate and banana French toast.
